Renewable Energy Electrical Engineer

A Renewable Energy Electrical Engineer is required, based in Cardiff.

This is a full time, permanent role for a leading renewable energy client, primarily focused on wind energy projects.

The role includes the following responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with the Contract requirements and Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies.
The onsite control and co-ordination of the Sub-Contractors
The maintenance and completion of the Site Quality, Inspection and Test and Environmental Plans
. Production of Risk Assessments & Method Statements
Contributing to the monitoring of progress at site
Ensuring that any outstanding electrical works are completed.
To prepare and check electrical contract specifications in line with the project requirements (in liason with Procurement Manager)
To assist in carrying out Electrical Audits.
Checking on schematic drawings to ensure compliance.
Assist Senior Electrical Engineer (Construction) carrying out High Voltage operational work

The role will involve extensive travel supporting the day to day running of the construction projects within UK & Ireland, so the ability to travel, manage the working day and work at wind farm sites within the UK and Ireland is essential.

You should have a higher education qualification in an electrical engineering discipline related to construction . Some relevant wind or energy experience would be a strong advantage.

Wind Energy Offshore Project Engineer-Construction

A Wind Energy Offshore Project Engineer-Construction is required, based in Hertfordshire, on a full time permanent basis.

The client provide construction project management and engineering services throughout all the phases of offshore wind farm project execution including engineering coordination and interface management, tendering and contracts negotiation, implementation and management.

The role is to provide construction services in support of the project's development, design, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities. Where required the role may also involve the supervision or coordination of works on site.

This role would ideally suit a degree qualified person in a suitable engineering or technical discipline and preferably with construction site and project management experience. Knowledge of the wind industry and /or offshore sector is not essential but would be strongly advantageous.

You should also be Willing to travel within UK and Europe, as well as travel to and working on offshore sites.This role may require working at height.

The successful applicant for the 3 year post will work on the project "Evolutionary Discovery of Protein Stabilising Supramolecular Gels" funded by the European Research Council (ERC). This post is available from January 2012.

The Department seek top quality candidates with excellent communication skills and a PhD in supramolecular chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, peptide nanotechnology, conducting polymers, artificial light harvesting systems, microbiology/biofuels or similar. Assistant/Associate Professor in Building Services for Low Energy Buildings

Applications are invited for a position as Assistant/Associate Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering (DTU Civil Engineering) at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). The position is available as soon as possible.

Responsibilities and tasks
The candidate will be engaged in teaching and research on development of solutions for integrated design of buildings with a very low use of energy for heating, cooling, ventilation and electricity for building services and lighting. The working area includes highly insulated building envelopes, thermal storage in constructions, window systems with positive net energy gain and solar shading, ventilation systems with heat recovery and minimum use of electricity, heating systems, cooling systems based on venting and night ventilation or water-cooled ceilings, lighting systems with daylight control as well as combination with renewable energy systems. The different topics are coupled in computations of the performance with respect to total energy use and indoor environment. The themes are also coupled in work on development of intelligent control and continuous commissioning of the different systems in the building. It is preferred that the candidate has a profound knowledge of several of the topics listed above including knowledge of relevant building energy simulation tools.

Innovation activities may be carried out in close collaboration with companies and trade associations, assessment activities may be carried out as commissioned by public authorities, and research activities may be carried out as part of national and joint European cooperation.

The candidate will be involved in teaching on all levels: classes and project supervision of B.Eng., B.Sc. and M.Sc. students, and for an Associate Professor a possibility to be supervisor of PhD projects. DTU has recently started a new education as B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering, and the candidate may have opportunity to contribute to teaching in this education.

The position is assigned to the Department's Section for Building Physics and Services. The new colleague will mainly work with the research group on Building Energy and Services. Other groups of the Section are responsible for activities in Building Physics and in Solar Energy Systems.

Qualifications
Candidates for an

Assistant Professorship must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent)Associate Professorship must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an Assistant Professorship and should document didactic/pedagogic training.

Assessment
In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to

experience in teaching and education;scientific production and research potential at an international level;the ability to promote and utilize research results;an all-round experience basis, preferably including international experience;the ability to contribute to development of the department's internal and external cooperation.
