IFC Advisory Services in Indonesia is a multi-donor initiative and has offices in Jakarta, Denpasar, Makassar and Banda Aceh, with a mandate to improve the business enabling environment, to increase access to financial services and to improve the performance of selected supply chains. Currently IFC is looking for


1. Team Assistant/Logistics Coordinator (TA – Logistics)

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive logistical support for all IFC events, including training events and VIP visits
  • File and archive all IFC documents and publications
  • Update Business Continuity Plan and arrangements for the IFC Office in Jakarta
  • Reports to the Office Administrator in Jakarta
  • Other tasks as required and requested by the Management

The successful candidate should have the following skills and experience:

  • University degree
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in logistical support and event organizing, preferably with the private sector and/or a multilateral agency
  • Strong skills in handling audiovisual equipment
  • Solid organizational skills, especially in handling files and archives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and detailed oriented
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Frequent travel within Indonesia might be necessary
  • Understanding of multi-cultural issues essential

2. IT Specialist – (ITS Jakarta)

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Configure and support workstations as well as maintain and administer all IT resources for Jakarta head office
  • Perform workstation management, package distribution, security patching, as well as monitor/manage daily rotation of tape backups
  • Participate in equipment assessment, purchasing, conduct training, maintain documentation, and remain in constant communications with Headquarters expert groups (Washington D.C.)
  • Provide strategic contributions on IT needs and solutions
  • Remote management and Tier-2 support of 4 offices in Indonesia to include Jakarta, Denpasar, Makassar, and Banda Aceh
  • Other duties as assigned by the Business Services Manager

The successful candidate should have the following skills and experience:

  • Technologies: Intermediate Lotus Notes 7.0, Microsoft Windows XP/Vista, Office 2003, SAP, Active Directory, Office 2003, Ultrabac 8, HP Server platform and Dell workstations/laptops, Cisco networking. Must have excellent knowledge of office technology hardware; Blackberry, printers, fax, Nortel PBX, copiers.
  • Full knowledge of WAN/LAN and communications systems
  • Ability to communicate and perform troubleshooting over the telephone
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills; the ability to listen and comprehend problems and proposed appropriate solution to resolve
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team as required under difference circumstances
  • Strong Customer/Client service skills and the ability to work under pressure with accuracy and professionalism
  • Master’s Degree in engineering or computer related field or Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Frequent travel will be required and some weekend support hours as necessary

3. Communication Specialist

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a communications strategy for IFC Indonesia and provide overall management and direction to the communication team
  • Initiates and sustains effective professional relationships with key internal and/or external constituencies (the media, civil society, academia, businesses, local government agencies, etc.) to identify opportunities for possible strategic partnerships and to strengthen IFC’s overall effectiveness and image in Indonesia
  • Establish strong relationships with project teams and contribute to project outcomes through development of dissemination and communication plans
  • Proactively plans, designs, executes, and monitors media and public relations strategies and campaigns in Indonesia on behalf of IFC
  • Oversees planning, coordination, scheduling and logistics (often across multiple teams) for press briefings, major conferences and seminars, public or broadcast appearances, and other communications-related activities sponsored by IFC
  • Writes, produces, and disseminates communications products (press releases, speeches, power-point presentations, and other promotional materials) that are strategic, consistently on-message, and serve a wide range of audiences
  • Monitors and analyzes current events and public and press opinion with a view to risk management. Advises relevant IFC staff and clients on trends, news developments, or changing/unexpected circumstances that may impact IFC and its work, and helps to determine appropriate strategic responses to address them.
  • Routinely addresses internal and external target audiences on IFC policies and positions that are sometimes complex and/or sensitive, via media briefings, conferences, etc. Routinely gives presentations and/or represents the Bank at external events of small- to medium-sized target groups.
  • Works independently, seeking guidance on complex projects/issues from more senior staff.

The successful candidate should have the following skills and experience:

  • A minimum of ten years of work experience in media relations, public relations, journalism, with strong knowledge of development work and private sector issues in Indonesia
  • Degree in journalism, communications, public policy, business or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Exceptional ability to write and communicate in English; fluency in Bahasa Indonesian is required
  • Excellent computer skills; ability to use standard technology packages, e.g., Word, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint, Internet, and Excel
  • Ability to operate under pressure and tight deadlines with accuracy and professionalism
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a willingness to work in a diverse team environment
  • Overseas work experience and demonstrated aptitude for communicating about international finance is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience with a multilateral or international organization is preferred
  • Graphic design/publishing skills are an asset
