Desktop Analyst (Desktop Systems)

Queen Mary, University of London seeks an experienced Desktop Analyst to deliver the managed desktop services, manage desktop applications and provide third line support for those services, working in partnership with academic teaching staff in Schools and with professional services staff to design, implement and operate a responsive, robust and effective service.

The Desktop Systems team plays a key role in enabling the College to meet its strategic objectives through provision of the student desktop and email services and of the managed desktop services underpinning the activity of professional services staff and many academic staff. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience of running managed desktop systems and of application packaging and delivery (e.g. ThinApp, ZENworks, MSI, AdminStudio) alongside proven strong analytical and problem solving skills. Furthermore you should have substantial knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems as well as network protocols including Ethernet and TCP/IP.

IT Services is undertaking a radical transformation, consolidating disparate technologies, services and teams of IT staff. The vision working on partnership to deliver a valued and effective experienced of IT describes our goal. The College has committed to considerable investment in IT and this post will be subject to an internal restructure within the next 18 months.

The salary for this full time, permanent post is within the range of £33,794 and £39,786 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
