Professor in International Political Theory

The Department of War Studies is seeking to appoint a Professor of International Political Theory. The Department is looking for a distinguished scholar who already has an outstanding international profile in the field of political theory as it pertains to international relations, conflict management, and war. It seeks applicants who have a publication list that includes both monographs published by the major university presses and peer reviewed articles published in the leading scientific journals. 

Applicants must be experienced teachers able to teach on both the BA War Studies undergraduate programme and on one or more of our 12 MA programmes. In addition, applicants must have substantial experience in supervising doctoral research students. Finally, the person sought must have a proven ability to initiative and lead research projects, together with a commitment to launch new ones. The person appointed will be expected to carry his/her share of administrative duties within the Department.

The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualifications and experience, within the Professorial salary scale.
