The research group of Professor Ulijn invites applications for a Research Associate position available in the area of supramolecular gels for bioenergy applications.
The successful applicant for the 3 year post will work on the project "Evolutionary Discovery of Protein Stabilising Supramolecular Gels" funded by the European Research Council (ERC). This post is available from January 2012.
The Department seek top quality candidates with excellent communication skills and a PhD in supramolecular chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, peptide nanotechnology, conducting polymers, artificial light harvesting systems, microbiology/biofuels or similar. It is essential that applicants have a good track record of publications in high quality international journals. The successful candidates will join the new bioenergy activity within the biomolecular nanotechnology research group (www.ulijnlab.com), an ambitious research team with an international and cross-disciplinary focus. The research theme is closely aligned with the new Technology and Innovation Centre (TIC) at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow (www.strath.ac.uk/tic).
