DTU Fotonik, the Department of Photonics Engineering, Technical University of Denmark, invites applications for a position as professor in Experimental Nanophotonics.
Responsibilities and tasks
The professor is expected to take a leading role in the Department's experimental activities within the area of nanophotonics structures and devices. In particular, the department wishes to strengthen its activities within the area of semiconductor optoelectronics and photonics.
The department has state-of-the-art optical laboratories, including ultrafast spectroscopy, and access to cleanroom facilities, and the professor will benefit from collaboration with established groups within the area of fabrication (quantum wells and quantum dots, photonic crystals, lasers, etc.), theory of light-matter interaction in nanostructures, modelling and design of nanostructured devices, and ultra-high speed optical communications. A start-up grant for supporting staff and purchase of new equipment is negotiable.
The successful candidate is expected to take a lead position in teaching at the bachelor-, master- and PhD levels.

The applicant must be internationally recognized with documented research and research leadership in several of the following areas:
The applicant must also demonstrate teaching experience, including supervision of Ph.D. and M.Sc. projects as well as training of postdoctoral researchers.

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.
