Job Description
The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is one of the highest ranked scientific research organisations in the world. The Headquarters Laboratory is located in Heidelberg (Germany) and the outstations are in Grenoble (France), Hamburg (Germany), Hinxton (UK) and Monterotondo (Italy).

We are looking for a Research Technician to join the group of "Oncogene dependence and mouse models of cancer" at EMBL Monterotondo, Italy. We use genetic approaches combined with histological and in vitro molecular imaging techniques to study tumor biology and residual tumor cells. The successful candidate will be primarily involved in mouse techniques and primary cell culture in the lab as well as routine laboratory duties. Priority will be given to candidates with experience in:

Mouse tumor biology including tissue harvest, histology procedures such as embedding, sectioning paraffin and frozen tissues and immunostaining. Cell culture knowledge of primary cells. Cytogenetic techniques.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have a university degree or technical school training in the life sciences. Experience in histology is essential and knowledge of molecular biology, microscopy and cell culture will be a plus. Fluency in English, good communication and interpersonal skills, excellent organisational skills and the ability to work as part of an international team are required.
