My client is a specialist manufacture of wind turbines who is currently working on a number of new projects with key clients across Europe. With these key projects already well underway, the company is keen to increase their skilled engineering base to meet these project's needs. As a result there is an urgent requirement for composite design engineer with experience in the design and development for composite materials. As the world's leading supplier of wind power solutions, they have installed more than 39,000 wind turbines in 63 countries. They are currently leading 20,000 employees, and we are eager to welcome new, dedicated colleagues.
Project Management Group
The Project Management Group is responsible for managing a range of multidisciplinary projects related to the concept, design, development, manufacture, and testing of new blades. The team takes advantage of our client's matrix organisation to deliver innovative products through integrated projects drawing on a skilled multi-cultural workforce. The Project Management Group is also responsible for setting and improving the standards and processes by which the projects are run.
An opportunity is now available for a new Project Manager to join the team and take leadership of the development of a new blade product within an expanding portfolio of wind turbines.
Key responsibilities and tasks include:
-Develop new Project Management tools
-Strong knowledge of Project Process Development
-Ensure delivery within time, quality and cost targets
-Support new production systems and prototype line set-up
-Contribute to Project Management Team expertise growth
Qualifications and work experience
-Engineering and/or business degree
-Hands-on Project Management experience (minimum 5 years)
-Experience of composite structures is preferred but not essential
-Exposure to project planning (excel, Microsoft applications etc)
The successful candidate will be:
-A good communicator
-In possession of developed leadership skills
-A genuine interest in Project Management stretching to Six sigma, prince 2 methodologies etc
-A pro-active team player
-Willing to travel within Europe (1 week out of 4)
-Proven experience of managing technical projects using a Gate Model approach, plus exposure to 6-Sigma and DfSS methodologies would also provide a distinct advantage.
