Job Description
The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is one of the highest ranked scientific research organisations in the world. The Headquarters Laboratory is located in Heidelberg (Germany) and the outstations are in Grenoble (France), Hamburg (Germany), Hinxton (UK) and Monterotondo (Italy).
Applications are invited for an ERC funded postdoctoral position in the group of Dr. Martin Jechlinger and Dr. Rocio Sotillo, to study mechanisms of oncogene dependence and tumor relapse in breast and lung cancer. Our approaches involve the use of molecular biology, three-dimensional in vitro cell culture of primary cells and genetically engineered mice. In particular, we are looking for highly motivated, talented, and enthusiastic scientists with an interest in cancer research.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful applicant should hold a PhD in Molecular or Cell biology. Prior experience in cancer research, animal models and in vitro culture systems is advantageous but not absolutely required. The ability to independently take responsibility over his/her own project, as well as strong teamwork and communication skills, are required as well as reliability, attention to detail and effective time management. Motivation to work in a multidisciplinary and international environment is fundamental to this position. Good communication and presentation skills and fluency in English are expected.
